Wellcome Genome Campus Advanced Courses and Scientific Conferences is the only UK-based programme providing open postgraduate courses and conferences focused on biomedicine. We fund, develop and deliver training and conferences that span basic research, cutting-edge biomedicine, and the application of genomics in healthcare.

Around 60 events are organised each year attracting up to 3,500 scientists and healthcare professionals to the Wellcome Genome Campus. We have a global reach with attendees from over 100 countries. We also run courses regularly outside the UK, in Latin America, Africa and Asia. These overseas courses provide training tailored to regional biomedical communities in low- and middle-income countries.

Wellcome Genome Campus Advanced Courses and Scientific Conferences is part of Connecting Science. Connecting Science inspires new thinking, sparks conversation and supports learning by drawing on the ground-breaking research taking place on the Wellcome Genome Campus. We connect researchers, health professionals and the wider public, creating opportunities and spaces to explore genomic science and its impact on people.

Together with the other Connecting Science teams - Wellcome Genome Campus Conference Centre, Wellcome Genome Campus Public Engagement, and Wellcome Genome Campus Society and Ethics Research – we enable everyone to explore genomic science and its impact on research, health and society

Below is a collection of figures for the period 2010-2014, which illustrate the international participation and impact that are the foundation of our Courses and Conferences Programme.

Whilst most new event ideas are generated within the scientific team, we welcome suggestions from the scientific community. If you would like to propose a new conference or course, please contact the programme manager: Dr Rebecca Twells.
