Dedicated to helping those who require financial assistance to attend our events.

Wellcome Genome Campus Advanced Courses and Scientific Conferences aim to make their events as accessible as possible, so we offer a number of funding opportunities to help with the cost of attending our events.

The following funding opportunities are currently available:

  • bursaries
  • carer grants


As standard, Wellcome Genome Campus Scientific Conferences offers a limited number of registration bursaries are available for PhD students to attend our conferences, covering up to 50% of the registration fee. Sometimes extra bursaries are made possible by conference sponsors. All our advanced courses are already heavily subsidised for all non-commercial participants from anywhere in the world. Additional, limited bursaries are available (up to 50% of the course fee) and are awarded on merit. Please view the Bursary tab on individual event pages for more details.

Overseas Courses
Overseas courses are free to attend for non-commercial applicants. Nevertheless, a limited number of bursaries are available to cover travel, accommodation and sustenance costs and are awarded on merit. To apply for a bursary, please complete the bursary section of the online application form for your selected course. Please note that both the applicant and sponsor are required to provide a justification for the bursary as part of the application.

Carer Grants

Our new carer grants help delegates with the costs of caring for children or dependent family members while attending our Wellcome Genome Campus events. The grants can be used to pay for childcare/care at home (e.g. babysitter, carer) or at a registered provider while the delegate is at the event.
